The Club is Founded
Burgess Hill Bowls Club is established, becoming one of the early lawn bowls clubs in West Sussex. The club quickly becomes a focus for the local community.

1961
Move to Leylands Road
The club secures its first dedicated ground at Leylands Road, providing a permanent home and allowing the club to grow its membership and fixtures programme.

1970
Ladies' Section Founded
A Ladies' Section is established, opening the game to women members and beginning what would become a thriving part of the club's life.

1974
Relocation to Janes Lane
The club moves again, this time to a new ground at Janes Lane, reflecting the growing ambitions and resources of the membership.

1984
Ladies' Section Joins the Main Club
The separate Ladies' Section merges with the main club, creating the fully integrated membership that the club continues to enjoy today.

1999
New Clubhouse at Westhill Drive
A new clubhouse is officially opened at the current Westhill Drive site, providing modern facilities including a licensed bar, and cementing the club's long-term future.
Today
Today, Burgess Hill Bowls Club has over 150 members and fields teams across multiple county leagues. The club continues to host the Edward and Gladys Rowland Cup — one of Sussex's most prestigious inter-club competitions — and remains a thriving hub for both competitive and social bowls in the heart of West Sussex.
Affiliated to Bowls England, the Sussex County Bowling Association, and the Mid Sussex Bowling League, the club punches well above its weight in county competitions and takes pride in welcoming new members at all levels of experience.
