Social & Club Life

There's always something going on at Burgess Hill Bowls Club.

Monthly Social Events

We have a thriving social scene at the club with events running every month of the year. There's something for everyone — past events have included:

  • Bingo nights
  • Quiz nights
  • Music nights
  • Beetle drives
  • Themed evenings
  • Members' socials

The Bar

The clubhouse bar is a great place to relax after a game or catch up with fellow members. During the playing season the bar is open on match days and social evenings.

Because the bar is run entirely by volunteers for the benefit of members, you'll find the prices considerably better value than you'd pay at your local pub — one of the many perks of being part of the club.

Even in the closed season the club stays open and welcoming. The bar is open on:

  • Wednesday evenings
  • Friday evenings
  • Sunday lunchtimes

Darts Team

We have our own darts team who practise and hold matches on Wednesday evenings during the closed season. Whether you're a seasoned player or have never picked up a dart in your life, members are very welcome to come along, have a go, and pit their skills against other members. It's a great way to keep in touch with the club over the winter months.

Special Events

Throughout the year we mark the calendar with several special occasions that bring the whole club together. These include:

  • Opening Season Coffee Morning — welcoming members back for the new season
  • Christmas Dinner — our annual end-of-year celebration
  • All-day events — several special days throughout the year

Club Charity

Cure Usher

BHBC is proud to support Cure Usher as our club charity. Usher syndrome is a rare genetic condition causing combined hearing and vision loss, and Cure Usher funds vital research into treatments and a cure.

We work hard to raise as much money as we can throughout the year — through raffles, events, and collections — and every pound raised makes a real difference.
