The Edward & Gladys Rowland Cup

The Rowland Cup has been a fixture in the Sussex bowls calendar for many years, organised and hosted by Burgess Hill Bowls Club. Around 50 clubs from across Sussex enter each year, competing in the Edward Rowland Cup and the Gladys Rowland Cup.

Clubs may enter one or both draws. Matches are played throughout the season on a knockout basis, with both competition winners meeting at Finals Day, held at BHBC's ground in Burgess Hill.

The competition is named for Edward and Gladys Rowland, whose connection to the club runs deeper than the trophy itself — Edward Rowland served as club President from 1976 to 1983, and it was his sponsorship that funded the brick clubhouse extension built in 1981.
